Stofan Kaffihus, Reykjavik

I am going to back date this because there are some great places I've been recently while I've been away that I need to write about.

For the time being I'm going to write about the coffee shop I'm currently in, in Reykjavik, Iceland!
I've already spent a good few hours in here over the week because there is very little to do over here and it's pretty much dark all the time!

Stofan translates as 'lounge' in Icelandic and this coffee shop does look like a lounge with sofas and comfy chairs. The walls are brick with wood and there's wooden floors. Behind the counter is an open kitchen where they prepare cakes, soups and paninis. Once it turned 5pm they started playing this chilled out music which makes the atmosphere very comfortable. There's snow outside at the moment and its cosy inside, I love that feeling!

The other day I had a lovely caramel latte and THE biggest piece of carrot cake. I was here for three hours and still couldn't finish it! Being Iceland this place is expensive, £10 for coffee and cake is probably the most I've ever paid but I'd say it's worth it!

Today I went for the hot chocolate, it was so good. The cup wasn't big enough and it was gone in a second. It had fresh cream and chocolate bits on top. They also stock tea, their Earl Grey and English Breakfast are Clipper and the rest of their herbal teas are Pukka. I was there for quite a few hours both times and they didn't bother me at all just let me be, a lady actually came around with free sample of cake!
I do love this coffee shop, it is up there with the best of them. Everything is homemade, the atmosphere is so chilled and comfortable and the staff are brilliant. If your in Reykjavik - go here!
